“Classic Comedy Films”

Hey Horror fans, as I mentioned in my last blog post, I was doing something a little different. I usually do blogs about horror of course, like Supernatural Recommendation or Wrong Turn but I am focusing strictly on classic comedy today. All of the binge worthy comedy that will have you cracking up with laughter is most likely in this blog. Let’s get started!

Money Talks “was released in 1997. Reporter played by Charlie Sheen reports on small time Crook Chris Tucker that ends up in jail then in the middle of a prison break. Finding the only person who would believe and help him to clear his name, Franklin (Chris Tucker) teams up with James (Charlie Sheen) to bring the real criminals to justice. – Chris Tucker- “I will slap you man! I will slap the hell outta you. You don’t know who you messing with. I don’t even know when I’m gonna slap somebody.”

All about the Benjamin’s” was released in 2002. This is actually one of the great comedies because of ‘4547′ and ‘Dwight‘. Those references will have you crying with laughter after taking a look. This film stars Bounty Hunter Ice Cube and another small time con Mike Epps who develop a new friendship in the midst of chasing bad guys, getting a good amount of diamonds, and playing the lottery ticket for a millions of dollars. You might also know Mike Epps from the previous blog post with the Top 5 Comedy Horrors and being number 3 with “Meet the Blacks” movie.

Booty Call” was released in 1997. This is literally my favorite comedy ever because who knew that so much work could be done in one night. Sorry if anyone is offended by this film but seriously, this will have you laughing all threw out from beginning to end. Rushon (Tommy Davidson) and Bunz (Jamie Foxx) embark on the craziest night that leads to a hospital after the glad wrap situation and almost single. Rushon’s girlfriend Nikki (Tamala Jones) and her best friend Lysterine (Vivica A. Fox) who sends the guys on a midnight run or runs per se.

Rush Hour 1-3” was released in years 1998, 2001, and 2007. Hopefully there is a Rush Hour 4 because who does not want to see Hong Kong Detective Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and LAPD Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) solve cases with the most funniest actions. Honestly, forming there own team was the best idea that happened. -Detective James Carter: “Do you understand the words that are coming out my mouth?!”

Friday 1-3” was released in years 1995, 2000, and 2002. I know we was all hoping for a, “Last Friday”, but I too am heartbroken that there will not be one soon, (Still hoping). This series has many funny characters, like Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, Katt Williams, Mike Epps, Terry Crews and the list goes on. I cannot stress the must watch on these series. – Smokey: (taking a crap outside) “You better not tell anybody man.” – Ezal: Don’t worry, I won’t tell anybody else.”

First Sunday” was released in 2008. O-M-G this film has some ups and downs but is so hilarious. Durell (Ice Cube) and Lee John (Tracy Morgan) who are petty thieves but in need of some fast cash ($17,000). Robing the neighborhood church was there only option so Durell will be able to see his son. They have more trouble getting the money than should have been expected due to someone else dipping their hands in the offering pan. – Tracy Morgan -“The white Jesus keeps starin at me!”

Soul Plane” was released in 2004. After his dogs death, filing a lawsuit gets him his own airline where he can create a better experience for passengers, or so he thought. Nashawn Wade (Kevin Hart) has a tricked out plane and a high as a kite pilot Mack (Snoop “Doggy” Dogg) who gets so high he dies and the plane starts going down until Nashawn saves the day. More drama is also on board with the family of Elvis Hunkee (Tom Arnold).

Major Payne” was released in 1995. Maj. Benson Payne (Damon Wayans) has went from the marines, to being honorably discharged since there was no war at the time, to being the leader of a nonconformist JROTC group of kids. Teaching the kids was a war all by itself to Major Payne. – Major Payne: “Maybe what he need is for you to pop your titty out his mouth and let the boy grow up.” HINT- His brothers are in the last post Top 5 Comedy Horrors from “Scary Movies 1-5” and “A Haunted House” films.

Good Burger” was released in 1997. When competition takes a toll for the worst for Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) and Ed (Kel Mitchell) when they are then kidnapped and taken to a mental hospital just for trying to prove Mondo Burger guilty and sending Kurt Bozwell (Jan Schweiterman) to jail. – Ed: (to Roxanne who has come to) “Your head hit my golf ball. Then you went sleepy bye!”

Low Down Dirty Shame” was released in 1994. Another Wayans brother starring in a comedy but action is not surprising. Andre Shame (Keenen Ivory Wayans) quits the police department because he was not having much luck in a recent case. It is until after he quits that he gets a break through and starts on his on detective journey to solve the case with his soon to be boo Peaches (Jada Pinkett) who talks way too much sometimes.

There are so many movies I could name today but the list would go on forever. Here is another list of more comedy movies that you can watch for the time being since we are all stuck in the house. Let me know what you think of these films. Do you like them? Any particular ones you wanted to watch? Did I give any insight on some films that you wanted to watch before? The list is below…

Again, there is way more classical comedies than those provided. Please leave me feedback regarding future posts or movies you would like for me to review? Also, have you seen any of these classic comedies? If so, tell me which ones? There are millions of films and horror is one of the best but comedy is up there with it.

I love scary movies, so I write about them the most. I am currently in school studying Journalism/Communications. I also work, sometimes too much & don’t take a break. My birthday is in August, so I love to admit that I am a Leo. I am open to answer any questions that people have or do any recommendations on pieces that people have.

    1. Hey, I use to watch that show as well.
So sad when shows end, I feel like a member of the crew. Thank you for your response.
